Fast and Feast on Lenten Season

When I attended the mass last March 9, 2014, Msgr. Glenn Corsiga mentioned about several things to Fast and Feast on Lenten Season. Unfortunately, I was not able to record or rather took down notes on those matter.

So I have decided to search through the web, and luckily, I was able to get a copy of it (taken from here). Here it goes:

Fast from judgement, Feast on compassion
Fast from greed, Feast on sharing
Fast from scarcity, Feast on abundance
Fast from fear, Feast on peace
Fast from lies, Feast on truth
Fast from gossip, Feast on praise
Fast from anxiety, Feast on patience
Fast from evil, Feast on kindness
Fast from apathy, Feast on engagement
Fast from discontent, Feast on gratitude
Fast from noise, Feast on silence
Fast from discouragement, Feast on hope
Fast from Hatred, Feast on love.

Evolution on How Student's Take Down Notes

**It's just a funny thought.. inspired by one of my students.. :)

Situation:

In a classroom setting, a teacher writes down notes on the board to be copied by the student.

Action done by students:
in the early days..
...students use pen and paper to write them down.

when computers just came out...
...students use their computer or laptop to encode notes written on the board.

when mobile technology with cameras are affordable...
...students just take a snap shot of the writings on the board.

See.. students are very resourceful... as always. ;D

HANDBOOK 2010

I would like to share this forwarded message from a friend. I am posting this to remind me the rules in 4 categories: Health, Personality, Society, and Life.

Health:
1. Drink plenty of water.
2. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar.
3. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is manufactured in plants..
4. Live with the 3 E's -- Energy, Enthusiasm and Empathy
5. Make time to pray.
6. Play more games
7. Read more books than you did in 2009
.
8. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day
9. Sleep for 7 hours.
10. Take a 10-30 minutes walk daily. And while you walk, smile.

Personality
:

11. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.
12. Don't have negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest your energy in the positive present moment.
13. Don't over do. Keep your limits.
14. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.
15. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip.
16. Dream more while you are awake
17. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
18. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner with His/her mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness...
19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone. Don't hate others.
20. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.
21. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.
22. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn. Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
23. Smile and laugh more..
24. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree...

Society
:

25. Call your family often.
26. Each day give something good to others.
27. Forgive everyone for everything..
28. Spend time w/ people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6.
29. Try to make at least three people smile each day.
30. What other people think of you is none of your business.
31. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends will. Stay in touch.

Life
:

32. Do the right thing!
33. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful.
34. GOD heals everything.
35. However good or bad a situation is, it will change..
36. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.
37. The best is yet to come..
38. When you awake alive in the morning, thank GOD for it.

Our Lady's Garden

We had our CCS faculty retreat at the Our Lady's Garden, somewhere in San Jose. Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao cottages are created. A chapel is also there, and there were several animals placed in their own cage.

Here are some pics taken from my phone (but I had it enhanced a bit):

This is the pathway going to the Our Lady's Garden. On the right, there's a huge Mama Mary and stations of the cross. Across this is Jo's Inato (restaurant), and it's beside the sea.

This is the chapel inside the Our Lady's Garden.

An image of the ostrich.. There were about 2 of them or three.. :) It was my first time to see a real ostrich! haha!

The peacocks! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to take a picture when the peacock showed its beautiful tail feathers, or coverts. :) To know more about peacock, visit National Geographic.

Only in the Philippines

I find it so funny taking a look at these pictures wherein it can only be found in the Philippines. These pictures can only be found in one store only.. :)

There's nothing really funny with this but just to point out that there's an improper use of the @ sign.

I don't know what's with the Filipino people, they really pronounce letter 'e' so hard... as in "eeeee". Even with short 'e'. :)

How can you define a VALID customer? Is there such a VALID and INVALID customer? :)

and...

Are you saying not to touch the DAMAGED PAPER? It seems that these papers displayed are in good condition. I advise you, don't ever buy the DAMAGE PAPER! :)
